As we kick-start 2026, @ASK Training, a SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)-approved training organisation, is inviting Singapore’s self-professed spreadsheet experts to put their Excel skills to the test at the Excel Masters Challenge 2026.

Whether it’s a supermum running the household on colour-coded spreadsheets, a meticulous planner tracking travel itineraries and daily expenses, or a professional who lives in formulas and pivot tables, this live competition is designed for anyone who works fast and thinks faster.

Happening in less than a month, the Excel Masters Challenge 2026 is a high-energy, two-stage competition where participants race against the clock to solve real-world Excel problems, from formulas and functions to charts and data analysis. 

The challenges are designed by industry trainers and practitioners using practical data scenarios and test both speed and accuracy in a fun, high-pressure setting.

With a total prize pool of SGD 10,000 and bragging rights as Singapore’s ultimate Excel Master up for grabs, this New Year challenge offers a refreshing way to start 2026: one spreadsheet at a time.

Participants will begin the competition with a preliminary round on 10 January 2026, during which they can choose from three timed sessions: 9:00 am, 10:00 am, or 11:00 am. 

Top performers from this stage will advance to the Grand Finale, which takes place on 24 January 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, where finalists will compete live for the top prizes.

The preliminary round will take place at International Plaza (10 Anson Rd, #06-11 International Plaza, Singapore 079903) before the competition wraps up with a live Grand Finale at Furama RiverFront, Venus I, Level 3.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• A Two-Stage Excel Showdown: The challenge unfolds across two exciting stages, starting with a timed preliminary quiz followed by a live Grand Finale. Each round pushes participants to think fast and work even faster, testing not just Excel knowledge but how well skills can be applied under pressure.

• Real-World Excel Challenges: Contestants can expect practical, real-life scenarios involving formulas, functions, charts, and data analysis. Points are awarded based on both speed and accuracy.

• High Stakes, Real Rewards: There’s more than bragging rights on the line. Participants will compete for a SGD 10,000 prize pool, with SGD 5,000 for first place, SGD 3,000 for second, and SGD 2,000 for third.

• A Room Full of Spreadsheet People: Beyond the competition, it’s a chance to connect with fellow analysts, marketers, finance and operations professionals, students, and productivity enthusiasts. All brought together by a shared love of efficiency, problem-solving, and a well-built spreadsheet.

• Individual competition only: This is a solo challenge, with no collaboration allowed. To keep the playing field fair, the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot or Bard is strictly prohibited. Contestants will be provided with a laptop with Microsoft Excel installed, and will need a mobile phone with internet access to submit their answers during the competition.
