For many, public figures live lives that seem larger than life, untouchable by ordinary experiences or spiritual encounters. Yet even those who appear unreachable can have hearts that respond in surprising ways to the message of God. Such was the case with one of rock music’s most iconic personalities, whose life and struggles had captivated millions worldwide.

Pastor Dylan Novak of Henard’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Rogersville, Tennessee, has spent the past decade bringing the Gospel to Hollywood, encountering celebrities who might otherwise never have had an opportunity to hear about Jesus in a personal way. He shared that he met the legendary heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne alongside his family, bringing personalized Bibles and faith-based books as gifts tailored to their beliefs. “I was very thankful to have a moment to talk with him at his table,” Novak recalled. “I told him I had gotten him a gift based on his spiritual beliefs.”

Novak emphasized that his approach is always personal. He carefully researches what each individual has said about faith and spirituality, allowing him to engage in meaningful conversations rather than generic outreach. In the case of the rock star, this thoughtful method made a lasting impression. According to Novak, the musician kept the personalized Bible on his bedside table, proudly displaying it to visitors and using it as a resource to explore his faith.

In interviews, Novak revealed that many people might have written off this particular celebrity because of his public image and musical content. Yet the singer surprised everyone with his curiosity about God, creation, and spiritual truth. Novak recounted how he observed the artist’s interest deepen during a road trip with his son, where they visited the Ark Museum in Kentucky and engaged with the exhibits and discussions led by Ken Ham. “Here is somebody who most of the Church thought would be too far gone, but was so open,” Novak said.

Novak’s ministry extends far beyond one individual. Over the years, he has met thousands of celebrities, from actors to politicians, always aiming to plant seeds of faith wherever he goes. His mission is driven by the conviction that no one is beyond the reach of God’s love. “Reality hit me one day that these celebrities, these people that we admire, they’re souls just like you, just like me, who are on their way to heaven or hell,” he explained.

The Tennessee pastor also encourages a wider community to pray for these encounters, sharing images and stories on social media to rally support and intercession. He believes that God can use even the smallest act—like presenting a personalized Bible—to create meaningful spiritual change. While Novak does not know every final decision each celebrity makes, he has witnessed fruit in the lives of many who have shown openness to exploring faith.

Novak’s story underscores a simple but profound truth: God’s grace is not limited by reputation, lifestyle, or past choices. Even those who seem the most unlikely to embrace faith can be receptive when approached with love, patience, and genuine care. It is a reminder that no heart is too hardened, no life too public, and no past too complicated for God’s redemptive work.
