Netizens were quick to react when Paolo Contis was spotted dining with a ‘mystery woman’ in Baguio City weeks after his breakup with LJ Reyes was confirmed.

In a video that made rounds on social media, he was seen walking with the same girl he was with in Baguio.

Paolo and LJ’s split trended on social media when the actor unfollowed her on Instagram and removed all of their photos together. 

In a recent interview with Boy Abunda, LJ opened up about their separation and clarified that it was not a mutual decision. 

“Hindi siya mutual. Kasi naniniwala ako na kapag mutual ang isang desisyon, ito ay pareho kayong sumasang-ayon na hindi na nagwo-work ‘yung relationship,” she said. 

She continued on and stated, “Matagal ko nang nararamdaman na nakahiwalay na siya sa amin. Ramdam na ramdam ko po ‘yun. Honestly, ako po ang nagsabi na parang nasa ibang mundo na siya.”

LJ also told Boy that a few friends also warned her about sightings of Paolo, however the actor denied these stories. 

“It came to a point na friend of a friend na po,  as in close friend. ‘Pag babae ka alam mo ata talaga at parang kahit sinong nagmamahal, alam mo,” she added. 

The celeb also shared that she tried to work things through with Paolo for the sake of the kids, but  he was already firm with his decision. 

One may recall that the former couple dated back in 2015, and in 2018 they revealed in an interview with Arnold Clavio that a bond started to develop while they were filming the television show Yagit. 

In 2019, Lj gave birth to their bundle of joy, Summer Alyana, and on July 15, 2021, Paolo even penned a heartfelt birthday message to his ex-partner. 

“Love, thank you for everything! Thank you for taking care of all of us! Alam ko na mas mahirap ngayon na wala ako but I know the kids will be okay kasi nandyan ka. I want you to know how much I appreciate you and love you! Can’t wait to go home again and be with you! Please know that I am always missing and thinking about you.”

Paolo has remained mum on his breakup with LJ.
