SHAOXING, China, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On October 25, the second race day unfolded for the 2026 FIA TCR World Tour together with the Xiaomi‑sponsored CTCC China Touring Car Championship at the Shaoxing Keqiao Round. Four major competitions — the FIA TCR World Tour, TCR Asia Championship‑Asia Series (TCR Asia), TCR Asia Championship‑China Trophy (TCR China), and the CTCC China Cup — delivered fierce on‑track action. Roaring engines and cheers from the grandstands pushed this motorsport weekend in the water‑town region to its climax.

This weekend, the CTCC China Touring Car Championship brought the FIA TCR World Tour to Shaoxing Keqiao. As a top‑tier touring‑car series under the FIA, the TCR World Tour made its debut at Keqiao. Top drivers and competitive teams from Asia, Europe and the Americas gathered at Zhejiang International Circuit, staging a world‑class touring‑car showdown for this water‑town city.

A single event ticket extended race‑day excitement into the city’s consumer landscape. During the event weekend, holders of event passes or race tickets enjoyed a wide range of discounts at scenic spots, homestays, restaurants and other businesses. This gave rise to the concept of “Explore Keqiao Through Motor Racing”. Statistics show that driven by the event IP, ticket‑led consumption and immersive cultural‑tourism experiences, operating revenue for culture, sports and entertainment sectors in Keqiao District surged by 111.6 % in the first half of 2026.

By hosting this premier motorsport event, Shaoxing Keqiao has evolved from “staging a race” to “operating a city”. The bond between motorsport and the city goes far beyond pure competition. CTCC has returned to Keqiao for many consecutive years. Drawing world‑class entry lists, it amplifies event‑related traffic. Through deep integration of “motorsport + cultural‑tourism + consumption”, on‑track speed translates into tangible economic growth for the city. The race weekend has become a key driver energizing Keqiao’s culture, tourism, sports and consumer sectors.

Global Stars Battle Across Rounds, Fierce Competition Ignites the Water‑Town Venue

Behind the barriers, drivers across the four championships rewarded fans with high‑calibre racing. The FIA TCR World Tour delivered hard‑fought contests over multiple rounds, with Geely, Hyundai N and CUPRA locking horns once again.

In Race 2, Aurélien Comte of SP Compétition took the victory. Norbert Michelisz of BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse and Thed Björk of Geely China Star Racing finished second and third respectively. Race 3 became a head‑to‑head duel between Hyundai N and Geely. Mikel Azcona and Norbert Michelisz fended off attacks from the Geely squad to secure a one‑two finish for BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse, while Thed Björk claimed another podium in third place.
