Rick Li, producer at PUBG MOBILE, took centre stage at this year’s PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC) to reveal exciting new updates and future plans for PUBG MOBILE, alongside impressive statistics.

During his appearance at PMWC, Li emphasised PUBG MOBILE’s dedication to providing a fair and safe gaming environment. He revealed that PUBG MOBILE has significantly improved its ability to detect and combat in-game cheats, resulting in the banning of 9.05 million accounts, with 5.05 million of these accounts banned before they even entered a match.

This proactive approach has led to a 40% decrease in reports of in-game cheating, greatly improving the gaming experience for players across the globe.

Cheat code distribution outside of the game has also been a core part of the team’s focus. The team successfully removed cheat distribution content that had amassed over 25 million views, and have permanently banned approximately 4,000 live-streaming accounts that were using cheats, significantly reducing the spread of cheating content.

Li also highlighted the impressive growth of the Investigator team, which now consists of 3 million certified members. This dedicated team has reviewed 980,000 days of video footage, covering over 4 million matches, and helped to ban 1 million accounts, ensuring a fairer competitive environment for PUBG MOBILE players.

Over the past six years, PUBG MOBILE has grown to become the world’s largest co-creation platform for battle royale games. During his speech, Li shared impressive statistics for World of Wonder mode, where players can become game creators, customising their own maps and game elements. Creators worldwide have collectively crafted over 2.5 million maps, which have been played a total of 18.4 billion times, with an immense 2.82 million hours of cumulative time dedicated to editing.

The Ptopia Design Project, a skin co-creation initiative, now boasts over 200,000 creators with 1.5 million submissions, showcasing the community’s creativity and dedication. Li also unveiled that PUBG MOBILE will be launching a map creation contest in World of Wonder, with a staggering $2 million prize pool, alongside $1 million in creation incentives for the Ptopia Design Project, demonstrating PUBG MOBILE’s ongoing commitment to encouraging and supporting its creative community.

PUBG MOBILE is renowned for introducing captivating new themes for its regular Version Updates, continually seeking to inspire diverse stories themed around various regional cultures, and this trend shows no signs of slowing down.

In September players can look forward to a battle spanning a thousand years as they transform and gain the abilities of werewolves or vampires and face off against a giant vampire boss in a Victorian-style castle. October’s update will transport players to the frozen tundra of Nordic lands, to harness the power of the ice fields to battle ancient giants.

Next year, inspired by Middle Eastern culture, PUBG MOBILE will introduce the ancient and mysterious power of sand, with more details to be unveiled closer to the time.

Download and play PUBG MOBILE for free on the App Store and Google Play Store to try the new content. Stay tuned to PUBG MOBILE’s social channels on Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube for more details!
