PUMA has officially entered a multi-year agreement with the UP Men’s Basketball Team. Following the official signing last June 14 at the PUMA Flagship Store at SM North EDSA, the leading global sports brand has become the official outfitter of the UAAP Season 87 Men’s Basketball Champions.

The partnership marks a significant milestone for both PUMA and UP, uniting their shared commitment to performance excellence.

“We’re proud to equip the UP Fighting Maroons with elite performance gear,” said PUMA Philippines Country Manager and proud UP alumn Paolo Misa. “At PUMA, we believe greatness lives within each athlete, and the right support brings it to life.”

He added, “A championship team deserves only the best.”

This partnership is part of PUMA’s initiative to reaffirm its presence in the local basketball scene. Under the deal, the UP Fighting Maroons will be fully outfitted with PUMA’s athletic gear, designed to support the team’s performance during training and competition.

Beyond providing the team with industry-leading apparel, Misa claimed that PUMA aims to build a long-term relationship with the UP Fighting Maroons, one that’s built on trust, grit, and the pursuit of excellence. “As part of our global ‘Go Wild’ initiative, we’re here to unleash the greatness within and help athletes experience the true highs of sport,” said Misa. “The UP Fighting Maroons’ best is yet to come — and we’re honored to be on this journey with them.”

The UP Fighting Maroons is the latest in the long list of professionals and Olympic athletes around the world who trust PUMA for their performance gear. “PUMA is a huge name in global sportswear. They are innovators and believers in the power of sport,” said Aruba Flores-Opida, President of Nowhere to go but UP. “We are proud to align with a brand that shares our commitment to excellence both on and off the court.”

The men in maroon are bound for Serbia to officially start their training in preparation for the new UAAP season begins.

Catch the UP Men’s Basketball Team at the UAAP Season 88, kicking off this September with the University of Sto. Tomas set to host. This year’s UAAP theme is “Strength in Motion, Hope in Action.”
