Nadine Lustre to Remain Under Viva Artist Agency

The Quezon City Trial Court has ordered Nadine Lustre to uphold her contract with Viva Artist Agency.
Regional Trial Court Branch 220 Judge G. Paneda, in a resolution dated June 3 and signed on June 11, underscored that the sexy actress should honor her contract with the agency.
One may recall that Nadine signed with Viva back in 2009, and in 2014, renewed her contract with them until 2029.
In a statement released to ABS-CBN News, the Viva’s legal counsel Atty. Paolo Roxas stressed that with the ruling, the celeb is prohibited from entering into and/or performing contracts involving her services as an artist/endorser, without the permission of the company.
He added, “As provided by her contract, any issue raised by Nadine against Viva should be the subject of arbitration proceedings.”
The agency filed the petition after the celeb revoked her agreement with Viva in 2019, stating that her contract was oppressive, and illegal, and unconscionable.
However, Nadine’s camp contested the court’s ruling and said in a statement, “We are filing a Motion for Reconsideration on the Status Quo order. Nadine will continue with her concert and pending contracts but Viva will be claiming their 40% commission. Viva will also be notified of future engagements of Nadine, pending the arbitrable issue of her termination of the Viva Agency/Management Agreement.”
They also highlighted, “But the issue of whether there still is a valid Contract between Viva and Nadine was not decided by the Court which said that this issue is subject to arbitration proceedings and not the court.”
