Co-celebrities and netizens were shocked and saddened by the news that Yassi Pressman and Jon Semira have called it quits.
Yassi Pressman, one of the esteemed actresses and beloved public figures of her generation, shared with her fans and the public that she has been single for some time already.
Speculations about their break-up emerged when some netizens noticed Yassi’s apparent silence on Jon’s birthday last July 23, 2023. It can be recalled that Yassi had confirmed being in a new romance as she took to Instagram to greet Jon on his birthday last year.
“HBD. so happy with where life has brought us, so lucky to have you calm my anxieties, hold my hand, push me to become better & empower me,” she wrote in the caption. “I promise to keep giving u surprise cheek kisses at random times of the day even when u think I’m kulit,” she added.
Aside from this, the actress seemingly added to the speculation by showing several cryptic posts on social media in recent weeks. “It’s nice to be free like this hummingbird on me,” said Yassi. Another post read, “Not triple.not double.but SINGLE.”
She was also seen with presidential son and Congressman Sandro Marcos and Camarines Sur Gov. Luigi Villafuerte, who planted a kiss on her right cheek while talking to the public.
Yassi has clarified that she has no romantic relationship with these public officials.
Jon Semira, his ex-boyfriend, posted a statement about their break-up. He made clear there was no third party involved, debuncting rumors and “fake news” about this.
“After an amazing run, Yass and I have decided to part ways. We look to move on to our next phase in life in peace and with the support of our family and friends,” he said on his Instagram post, August 16.
“It’s been a while since the breakup. It was a decision made from the both of us, and us only. The third party rumors are false.”
“We wish each other the best and will always appreciate what we had. Our relationship was beautiful and we are both coming out better people because of it. We ask that you let us deal with this in private as we move forward from this.”

After announcing the split on social media, the ex-couple’s engagement video, covered by Notion in Motion, is now circulating online.
It can be seen that Jon knelt down asking Yassi to marry him, in front of their friends and significant others, and of course, an engagement ring was presented inside a box.
“Me and Yas have been together for over five years now. We met in Toronto. Yeah, it was love at first sight, to be honest,” Jon shared in the video.
“We met for the first time and you changed my life.”
“As long as I can remember babe, I’ve been leaving messages for you on mirrors. I think it’s my way of saying that I see you from day 1, it’s always been you… You made it so easy for me to love every version of you.”
“It gives me superhuman strength. And it gives me energy and drive, and motivation, and belief that you can, I can do anything…” he added.
Yassi, who was already crying, nodded before saying yes. Of course, that was then. In the aftermath of her recent breakup, Yassi is embracing her new found freedom and sense of independence with open arms. She recognizes the importance of self-discovery and personal growth during this phase of her life.
“Life is a journey of self-discovery and growth, and I’m embracing this new chapter with excitement and optimism,” Yassi shares. “I believe in the power of healing and self-care, and I’m using this time to explore who I am as an individual.”
Yassi has been actively immersing herself in new experiences, meeting new people, and venturing into uncharted territories. As a matter of fact, she is now preparing for her new series entitled “Black Rider” as the new leading lady of Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid. It is also her comeback to GMA Network after several years in other networks.
She also has a movie coming out on September 20, 2023 entitled “Video City” with Ruru, produced by GMA Pictures and VIVA Films, to be shown in cinemas nationwide.
It can be recalled that she was the leading lady of Coco Martin’s “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” on ABS-CBN. She hosted “Rolling in it Philippines” (seasons 1 and 2) and starred in the sitcom “Kurdapya” on TV5.
