Alongside the celebration of Father’s Day last Sunday, June 16, actress-host Ria Atayde announced that her husband Zanjoe Marudo is soon to become a father. Ria’s Instagram post shows several photos of them together by the seaside. In the second photo, Ria’s baby bump is prominently visible in her blue bikini.

“To the dad you already are and the dad I know you’ll be. Love you @onlyzanjoemarudo, so excited for this new chapter with you 🤍 Happy first Father’s Day!,” it can be read in the Instagram post’s caption of Ria. 

In the comment section, greetings from fellow celebrities like Nadine Lustre, Yam Concepcion, Alex Diaz, Marlo Mortel, Eula Valdez, Jane Oineza, Arci Munoz, Ruby Ruiz, Kim Rodriguez, and others can be read.

Many congratulated Ria, especially her industry colleagues and netizens.

Ria and Zanjoe tied the knot last March 23, same with Ria’s birthday.

“Happy Birthday MY WIFE ❤️,” Zanjoe expressed in his Instagram post, which featured wedding photos tagged with “03.23.24,” implying the date of their marriage. 

In her own post, Ria shared affectionate images of the couple, including one showcasing her hand adorned with two beautiful rings. “Forever sounds appealing,” she wrote alongside the photos.

Ria, who is the sister of actor and Quezon City 1st District Representative Arjo Atayde, is married to actress and host Maine Mendoza. Their parents are the esteemed actress Sylvia Sanchez and businessman Art Atayde.

Although the couple has generally maintained privacy regarding their relationship, they have also openly shared moments together on social media. Ria and Zanjoe have gone on trips with other celebrity acquaintances and have been spotted spending time together in public settings. The couple has primarily maintained a discreet relationship. They were initially speculated to be in a relationship in 2022 when they were spotted traveling together in New York. But later on, it was revealed that they have been dating since 2023.

Before settling down with Ria, Zanjoe was previously in relationships with TV hosts Bianca Gonzalez and Mariel Rodriguez, actress Bea Alonzo, and Filipino-Australian surfer-model Josie Prendergast. He was also linked to actresses Bela Padilla and Angelica Panganiban, although their relationship was purely friendship only. 

Ria, on the other hand, was romantically linked to actor JM De Guzman, with rumors suggesting that he was courting her while also dating Barbie Imperial. However, Ria denied these speculations.
