The 31st annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards are set to take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025, celebrating the year’s most outstanding performances in film and television. This prestigious event, known for recognizing excellence in acting, is unique as winners are chosen by fellow SAG-AFTRA members, making the honors especially meaningful within the industry.

For the second year in a row, the SAG Awards will stream live globally on Netflix at 8/7c, marking a continued shift towards digital accessibility. Fans eager for red-carpet moments and nominee interviews can tune in an hour earlier for the official pre-show at 7/6c, also available on Netflix.

The ceremony will take place at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, a historic venue known for hosting some of Hollywood’s biggest nights.

Returning to the SAG Awards stage after hosting in 2018, Kristen Bell will lead this year’s ceremony. Best known for her roles in The Good Place and Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, Bell brings a mix of charm and humor that is sure to keep the evening entertaining.

The 2025 SAG Awards nominations highlight a diverse range of talent across both film and television. Jon M. Chu’s Wicked leads the pack in the film categories with five nominations, including Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. In television, FX’s Shōgun stands out with five nods, making it one of the most recognized series of the year.

  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role: Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Daniel Craig (Queer), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing)
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role: Cynthia Erivo (Wicked), Demi Moore (The Substance), Karla Sofía Gascón (Emilia Pérez)
  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series: Jeff Bridges (The Old Man), Hiroyuki Sanada (Shōgun), Eddie Redmayne (The Day of the Jackal)
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series: Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton), Allison Janney (The Diplomat), Anna Sawai (Shōgun)
  • Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture: Wicked, A Complete Unknown, Emilia Pérez
  • Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series: Shōgun, Bridgerton, Slow Horses
  • Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series: The Bear, Hacks, Abbott Elementary

This year’s SAG Life Achievement Award will go to the legendary Jane Fonda, honoring her decades-long career in film, television, and activism. Fonda’s contributions to the industry and her advocacy for social change make her an iconic recipient of this prestigious award.

While the full list of presenters has yet to be announced, Sofia Carson and Noah Centineo have been named SAG Ambassadors, representing the organization and engaging in pre-show events.
