Selena Gomez Defends Hailey Bieber from Bashers

The drama between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber has been going on for weeks, and there’s no sign of it slowing down soon.
When Selena returned to talk after her break, she came back with that GRWM (Get Ready With Me) Tiktok video using Hailey’s Rhode make-up and left a message for her fans in the comments section reading: “Please be kinder and consider mental health. My heart has been heavy and I only want good for everyone. All my love.”
For the multitude of fans who have seen it, it’s Hailey she’s talking about but she didn’t mention the name directly so people wouldn’t talk even more. “I’m not even like an avid follower of the situation but isn’t Hailey the one that like begged Selena to tell off he fans for bullying her,” pointed out Your Funny Uni, a Tiktok content creator.
Selena’s brand is all about positivity and mental health so most likely, she didn’t want this hate campaign herself, and tweeted out of her own judgement.
A week ago, the hate campaign against Hailey had escalated to the point that she actually went on Instagram to poke fun at herself. Tiktok creator Lucent Rose pointed out the fact that it’s ironic that people are upset that Hailey bullied Selena but they retaliated by bullying the former: “Isn’t that a little bit of an eye for an eye? I mean, like I get it. If she bullies Selena, she definitely should face consequences. But, should those consequences be bullying? I mean, she has businesses that you can choose not to support. She has social media accounts that you can choose not to interact with. But, is bullying the answer?”
Jeffree Star also posted his own take, starting off with looking as if he will review the Rhode make-up set, and tossing it in the trash instead, after declaring himself “Team Selena” and “Team Anti-bullying”. Some of his fans thought that his actions were too harsh and even called him a bully. He even made another video to defend himself and denounced fans who defend celebrities who probably don’t even know that they exist.
On her Instagram story last March 24, Selena did clarify about Hailey reaching out to ther for help since the latter “has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity.” The Barney actress reiterated that this is not something she represents and “no one should have to experience hate or bullying.”
This has resonated positively with a lot of fans and the 31-year-old actress earned praises. “Selena doesn’t owe anybody anything honestly,” wrote user Toodles. “Selena, the fact that you have to post a story saying to sop the hate, talks volumes about you. Such kinda heart. This is something HER husband should address, not you,” said user olenka_gamboa.
A lot of people actually think that Justin Bieber should’ve been the one to come to his wife’s defense. User Gasy said” “It’s the husband’s role to defend his wife…not the ex-girlfriend though.” User jennie said: “WHY DOESN’T SHE ASK HER HUSBAND TO SPEAK UP FOR HER?” User yoonkie said: “THE EX SPEAKING OUT BEFORE THE HUBBY IS WILD.”
Whatever the reason may be, Selena taking the initiative in asking the people to stop is a good thing. At least Hailey wouldn’t be able to blame her for not stepping in and just letting things unfold.
