Glitz and glamour touched Cape Code, Massachusetts when the Hollywood stars came down and celebrated the wedding of “Captain America” Chris Evans and his bride now wife, Alba Baptista on September 9, 2023.

According to People, familiar faces from Marvel Universe were present in the said wedding of the year, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner.

It was reported that the wedding ceremony was “beautiful” and “locked down tight,” meaning guests had to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and couldn’t use their phones to take photos and upload on their social media platforms.

But the big question is, how did Chris Evans and Alba Baptista cross their paths?

Chris and Alba Baptista’s romantic relationship has been the talk of Hollywood recently. It was reported that the date of their initial connection seemed to be in 2021, when both were occupied with film projects in Europe. Fans were really shocked because their love story was filled with quiet moments and rare public appearances.

During the summer of 2021, while Chris was busy with his Netflix movie “The Gray Man,” Alba was doing her Portuguese-language series “Warrior Nun.” Alba is a Portuguese actress best known for her remarkable roles in largely popular Portuguese films and TV shows, including A Impostora, Filha da Lei, and A Criação. 

Given the success of her series, Alba starred in the 2022 dramatic comedy “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris,” where she played the role of Natasha alongside Lesly Manville and Jason Isaacs. She volunteered at an orphanage in Cambodia to teach in 2018, in addition to her acting career.

November 2022 when the two were seen hand-in-hand in Los Angeles, California. A source added at the time, “They are in love, and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her.”

Although the two of them have kept their relationship very private, “Captain America” was able to share some photos of Alba on his own social media platforms. In January 2023, the actor posted a video compilation of himself and Alba scaring one another in various situations. “A look back at 2022,” the actor wrote in the caption.

In February 2023, he shared a collection of shots of both of them while hiking, traveling, kissing, and spending time with Evans’ dog, Dodger. “Sexiest Man Alive of 2022” confirmed that despite his stardom and being associated with Captain America, the man of the hour has plans to settle down. 

“That’s absolutely something I want: wife, kids, building a family. When you read about most of the best artists—whether it’s actors, painters, writers—most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared. So it’s also something through my long 41 years that also rings true. Those things are the most important, Chris said in one of his interviews. 

He added, “I love the idea of tradition and ceremony. I had a lot of that in my life, so the idea of creating that—I can’t think of anything better.”

Before Alba, Chris had relationships with prominent female stars like Jessica Biel, Kate Bosworth, Christina Ricci, and allegedly had a thing with Sandra Bullock. When Chris rose to ultimate stardom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain America, he had an “on-and-off” relationship with Jenny Slate.
