Song Hye-Kyo, Gong Yoo to pair in upcoming South Korean historical drama

Hello, K-drama enthusiasts! Two of South Korea’s most prominent stars, Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo, are poised to come together in an upcoming historical drama penned by acclaimed scriptwriter No Hee Kyung.
Reports indicate that Song Hye Kyo was initially approached to take on a role in the upcoming K-drama, and she is currently giving the offer serious consideration.
Gong Yoo’s representatives from Management Soop have also addressed the casting reports. They confirmed that Gong Yoo has indeed been offered a role in a new K-drama written by scriptwriter Noh Hee Kyung. Currently, the actor is assessing the offer, and no decisions have been finalized as of the moment.
The forthcoming K-drama is rumored to be a contemporary historical series centered around the entertainment sector, aiming to narrate the journey of individuals who traverse time and uncover the intricacies of South Korea’s broadcasting industry.
Scriptwriter Noh Hee Kyung, recognized for her successful K-dramas like “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “Dear My Friends,” and “Our Blues,” among others, will make her return with this new project after an absence of nearly two years.
On the other hand, the director assigned to lead this new K-drama will be none other than Lee Yoon Jung, celebrated for directing popular hits such as “Coffee Prince,” “Cheese in the Trap,” and more.
Song Hye-Kyo and Gong Yoo haven’t collaborated on any projects together. They are both highly acclaimed actors in the South Korean entertainment industry, but they haven’t been cast in the same production.
Song Hye-Kho gained widespread recognition for her performances in popular dramas such as “Autumn in My Heart” (2000), “Full House” (2004), “Descendants of the Sun” (2016), and “Encounter” (2018).
Born on November 22, 1981, in Dalseo District, Daegu, South Korea, she began her acting career in the late 1990s and quickly rose to fame due to her talent and charm. Aside from her acting career, Song Hye-Kyo is also known for her philanthropic work and her influence in the fashion industry. She has remained one of the most recognizable and beloved figures in the South Korean entertainment industry.
On the other hand, Gong Yoo is a well-known South Korean actor who has gained international fame for his performances in various television dramas and films. He was born on July 10, 1979, in Busan, South Korea.
Gong Yoo rose to prominence with his roles in popular television dramas such as “Coffee Prince” (2007) and “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (also known as “Goblin”) (2016-2017). In “Coffee Prince,” he portrayed the lead character of a young man who pretends to be gay in order to work at a coffee shop and subsequently falls in love with a coworker.
However, Gong Yoo’s career breakthrough came with his role in “Train to Busan” (2016), a critically acclaimed zombie apocalypse thriller film where he played the protagonist struggling to survive amidst a zombie outbreak on a train.
