February 13, 2025 – The 75th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) opened in spectacular fashion, with some of the biggest names in cinema gracing the red carpet. Tilda Swinton, Timothée Chalamet, Emma Mackey, Vicky Krieps, and Lars Eidinger were among the stars making waves at the prestigious event, which kicked off with the world premiere of Das Licht (The Light) at the Berlinale Palast.

The Berlinale has long been a platform for groundbreaking films and artistic innovation, and this year’s edition is no exception. The opening ceremony was a grand affair, with festival director Tricia Tuttle and Jury President Todd Haynes setting the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable 11-day celebration of cinema.

3. Emma Mackey

4. Vicky Krieps

Beyond the red carpet glamour, Berlinale 2025 promises a rich cinematic experience, with 19 films competing for the coveted Golden Bear. This year’s jury, led by filmmaker Todd Haynes, includes distinguished industry figures such as Fan Bingbing, Rodrigo Moreno, and Maria Schrader.
