craftsmanship and skills to deliver a modern yet heartfelt take on the traditional reunion dinner!

WHAT: Sum Dim Sum, Singapore’s well-loved dim sum restaurant known for its authentic flavours, announces a transformative new chapter under Sum Capital Partners’ management. The brand is proud to announce the onboarding of Michelin-experienced Executive Chef Ben Yapp to elevate its culinary standards while maintaining accessible pricing and its strong Singapore heritage.

Founded in 2020 and loved for its handmade dim sum, Sum Dim Sum now leans into a more elevated festive experience for families, friends, and corporate gatherings. The new menu draws inspiration from the Year of the Fire Horse, symbolising prosperity, vitality, and renewal,which are reflected through dishes that emphasise strength-building ingredients, slow-cooked broths, vibrancy, and celebratory presentations designed for communal dining.

THE MENU (LIMITED-TIME | CHINESE NEW YEAR ONLY)
The following dishes are a few of the seasonal Chinese New Year specials, available for a
limited period from Chinese New Year Eve, from 16 February to 19 February 2026:

  1. SDS’s Ginseng-Infused Superior Broth Dumpling with Baby Chinese Lettuce (泡参
    菜胆灌汤饺).
    A delicate soup dumpling filled with slow-extracted ginseng essence and superior stock,
    wrapped in a thin, translucent skin and finished with tender baby lettuce for balance and
    freshness.
  2. Steamed Live Coral Trout with Green Sichuan Peppercorn Oil (藤椒蒸游水东星斑).
    Live coral trout steamed gently to preserve natural sweetness, finished with aromatic
    green Sichuan peppercorn oil for a bright, numbing lift without overpowering the fish.
  3. Baked Free-Range Chicken with Hispid Fig Root (五指毛桃焗土鸡).
    Free-range chicken is slowly baked with fragrant hispid fig root, creating a deeply
    comforting dish with an herbal aroma and tender, naturally sweet meat.
  4. Steamed Claypot Rice with Cured Meats, Topped with Braised Abalone (鲍鱼臘味笼
    子饭). Fragrant claypot rice, steamed with premium Chinese cured meats, crowned with tender,
  5. braised abalone that absorbs the dish’s umami-richness.
  6. Premium Double-Boiled Bird’s Nest with Imperial Almond Cream in Whole
    Coconut Accompanied by Firecracker Thousand-Layer Taro Puff (椰盅顶级燕窝杏
    皇露 拼 芋泥烟花酥).
    A show-stopping dessert pairing silky double-boiled bird’s nest almond cream served in
    a whole coconut, alongside a dramatic firecracker-style taro puff with crisp layers and
    smooth filling.
    The limited-edition Chinese New Year dishes are presented as festive set menus, thoughtfully
    designed for family reunion meals and group celebrations:
    ● Lead the Horse Year Set (一马当先) for 6 PAX | S$398++
    ● Overwhelming Vim & Vigor Set (龙马精神) for 10 PAX | S$688++
    ● Instant “Huat” Wealth Set (马上有钱) for 10 PAX S$1,088++

Each menu set offers a meaningful gastronomic experience designed for shared enjoyment, bringing people together through carefully crafted dishes that celebrate the spirit of reunion and gatherings. Diners can also continue to enjoy Sum Dim Sum’s regular à la carte favourites throughout the festive period, alongside the limited-edition Chinese New Year menu.

WHO: Chef Ben Yapp, Executive Chef and business partner, brings over 20 years of specialised dim sum experience. He is known for leading Peony Jade during its Michelin-listed years and has honed his craftsmanship at luxury establishments such as The Fullerton, Shangri-La, and Mandarin Oriental, amongst others. 

Chef Ben’s experience lies in Michelin-recognised kitchens and standards, which he now adapts for a wider audience. At Sum Dim Sum, Chef Ben oversees all dim sum R&D, menu development, and festive creations. Sum Capital Partners, which took over management in July 2025, plays a supporting role and is focused on enabling this culinary refresh.

WHEN: Sum Dim Sum will introduce limited-edition festive menu items, offering diners an early taste of the brand’s new culinary direction from Chinese New Year Eve, 16 February – 19 February 2026.

WHERE: These special items will be available only at the Bedok HomeTeamNS outlet at 900 Bedok North Rd, #02-02 HometeamNS Bedok, Singapore 479994, during regular operating hours at 10:30 am–10 pm.
