In observance of Holy Week, the City of Taguig, led by Mayor Lani Cayetano, officially opened The Life of Christ in TLC Village on March 25, Monday, offering a contemplative space for prayer and reflection during this Lenten season.

This Lenten Park affords visitors an immersive experience, allowing them to journey through the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through various faith-enriching installations and activities. Engage in spiritual reflection and take a self-guided walk through the 14 Stations of the Cross panels, each featuring a Bible verse, a reflection passage, and an activity or question to ponder upon.

Find solace in the dedicated Prayer Corner where visitors can write down their petitions, light a candle offering, and leave their prayer requests in the designated boxes. At the center of TLC Square stands a symbolic red cross installation. Visitors can write on black paper post-its the bad habits they wish to let go of as an act of repentance.

Everyone can also express their gratitude messages by pinning them on the Message Corner.

The Life of Christ also offers visitors choir performances and film showing as they immerse in the beautiful hymns and songs  and cinematic portrayal of the life of Christ, further enriching their understanding of the Holy Week. Mayor Lani Cayetano expressed her hope that through the city’s park, residents would find a space to reflect on the importance of faith in God and the value of paying attention to one’s spiritual life.

“Dito sa lungsod ng Taguig, mapalad po tayong nananatiling buhay ang mga tradisyon. Ito ay patunay na ang Taguig ay isang ‘Probinsyudad’, kung saan makikita mo ang mga amenidad ng isang modernong lungsod, pero hindi nakakalimot sa ating mayamang kultura, sa mga tradisyon,” Mayor Lani said.

She pointed out that the park is designed to deepen the understanding of Christ’s life, his sacrifices, and how humanity is redeemed from sin.

“Hindi kailangan lumayo dahil sa pamamagitan ng pagse-setup natin ng park na ito, nabibigyan natin ng pagkakataon ang bawat pamilya na magkaroon ng espasyo para magkasama-sama na hindi kailangan gumastos ng malaki,” Mayor Lani added.

The Life of Christ is open on March 25, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on March 26 to March 30, 2024 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
