To ensure faster and more efficient emergency response, Taguig City turned over 10 new fire trucks and firefighting equipment during a ceremony held Monday, October 6, at the TLC Grounds, Gate 7, Laguna Lake Highway, Barangay Lower Bicutan.

Seven of the new fire trucks were distributed to the barangays of Bambang, North Daang Hari, Katuparan, East Rembo, Cembo, Pitogo, and Pembo, while two units were turned over to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and one to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

Each unit is equipped with essential firefighting tools, including hoses, nozzles, firefighter suits, helmets, boots, axes, crowbars, ladders, sledgehammers, and spanners to support rapid response during emergencies.

Mayor Lani Cayetano led the ceremony attended by city and barangay officials, BFP personnel, and CDRRMO staff. She thanked the city council, barangay leaders, taxpayers, and frontline workers for their continued support in strengthening Taguig’s public safety programs:

“Today is truly a day of thanksgiving — for the Lord’s provisions, for our taxpayers whose trust and support make these programs possible, and for our partners in public service who continue to build a Transformative, Lively, and Caring city.”

She offered prayers for personnel who will operate the vehicles and urged barangay officials to ensure proper maintenance of the equipment:

“Ingatan po ninyo ang mga fire trucks na ito. Hindi lang ito para sa pag-apula ng sunog, kundi sa iba pang serbisyong pang-emergency na makatutulong sa ating mga kababayan.”

A ceremonial water salute followed the turnover, led by Mayor Lani with assistance from BFP-Taguig and CDRRMO personnel.

Acting City Fire Marshal FSUPT Garynel Julian lauded the local government for its continued support to the fire bureau, noting that Taguig was recently recognized as the best-performing city fire station in Metro Manila during the 3rd Quarter Command Conference of Fire District 4.

Father Guilver Exclamador of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish officiated the blessing of the fire trucks and firefighting equipment.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit, members of the City Council, and several barangay captains, including Ryan Esteban of Bambang, Michael Arcilla of Pembo, Thelma Ramirez of East Rembo, Ives Ebrada of Pitogo, Mario Hernandez of Katuparan, Lhorelyn Fortuno-Agtarap and Kagawad Larry Tuyay of North Daang Hari, and Romeo Millo of Cembo.
