A world of glamour, fantasy, and classic cinema unfolds in the first teaser trailer for Kiss of the Spider Woman, the upcoming musical drama directed by Bill Condon. Set against the stark backdrop of a prison during Argentina’s Dirty War, the film follows two inmates who escape their grim reality through vivid stories of old movies.

At the heart of these imagined scenes is Ingrid Luna, a radiant film icon portrayed by Jennifer Lopez, who brings elegance and star power to the role in a series of striking musical and cinematic moments.

The teaser opens with a sweeping montage of lavish visuals, anchored by Lopez’s portrayal of Ingrid Luna, a silver screen icon brought to life through the dreams of two prisoners trapped in a grim Argentine jail. “Come and find me, hear my song,” Lopez sings softly, her voice threading through rich visuals of elegant dance halls, ornate film sets, and cinematic dreamscapes.

Whether emerging gracefully from a velvet-draped bathtub or gliding across a ballroom in a glittering gold gown, Lopez channels vintage glamour with undeniable magnetism.

Diego Luna and Tonatiuh star as Valentín and Molina, two men sharing a cell during the final days of Argentina’s Dirty War. Through Molina’s love for classic cinema, the character of Ingrid Luna becomes a radiant symbol of escapism and beauty in a time of hardship.

As Molina stares longingly at a poster of Kiss of the Spider Woman, he confesses, “One of them I’ll never forget.” It’s a love letter to cinema itself — a recurring theme throughout the trailer.

One standout scene features Lopez performing “Where You Are,” beaming beneath a golden spotlight as she commands the stage with signature charisma. She later delivers the haunting title number dressed as the mysterious Spider Woman — a character from within Ingrid’s own fictional filmography.

With a webbed gown and commanding presence, Lopez blurs the lines between reality and fantasy, performance and memory.

The film’s teaser not only highlights Condon’s flair for staging but also offers glimpses of meticulously crafted set pieces. From sweeping camera movements to intricately lit scenes, each frame evokes the rich cinematic heritage the film draws inspiration from. The teaser’s palette is rich with golds, silvers, and deep velvets — echoing the visual elegance of 1940s and 1950s Hollywood.

Beyond her role as the leading lady, Lopez also serves as executive producer, alongside Diego Luna. The project premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival and garnered early praise for its production design and evocative musical performances.

Set to hit theaters nationwide on October 10, Kiss of the Spider Woman promises a compelling mix of drama, fantasy, and timeless glamour. With Condon’s direction, Kander and Ebb’s iconic music, and Lopez’s star power front and center, the film is shaping up to be a major cinematic event this fall — one that invites audiences to lose themselves in a story about storytelling, memory, and the enduring magic of the movies.
