Video game publisher Templar Media is making waves in the Christian gaming world with its recent acquisition of Norway-based development studio Bible X. The move secures the future of Gate Zero, a highly anticipated Bible-based video game that combines history, adventure, and interactive storytelling for players worldwide. The deal, announced in mid-December 2025, positions Templar Media to provide the resources, marketing, and distribution needed to bring this ambitious project to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and other platforms.

Gate Zero is designed as a historical, semi-open world action-adventure game with science fiction elements. Players explore a dystopian future where a totalitarian regime dictates the truth, and one teenagerâs journey back in time reveals the authentic stories of the Bible. John Gibson, CEO of Templar Media, described the project as an âEntertainment Firstâ experience, aiming to meet a growing demand for faith-based content that is both high-quality and engaging. âFrom the moment we saw Gate Zero, we knew it had enormous potential,â Gibson said. âThis acquisition allows us to bring the full strength of Templar Media to a game designed for a massive yet underserved audience.â
Bible X, founded in 2020 under the Christian media organization BCC Media, has focused on creating interactive, faith-centered content for younger audiences. Studio head Arve Solli explained that the vision of Gate Zero is to immerse players in the events of the Scripture while ensuring historical accuracy. âOur goal has always been to take players on a journey back in time, allowing them to experience pivotal moments in Scripture firsthand,â Solli said. With Templar Mediaâs support, the project now has the tools and resources to achieve even greater depth, quality, and reach.

The gameâs development draws on years of experience in Christian media. Solli and his team initially began with a virtual Bible study project for an international youth camp, creating an interactive tour of Jerusalem‘s temple. Though the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the camp, the prototype evolved into the foundation for Gate Zero. Young players were divided into groups to test the early version, participating in an immersive simulation that combined learning, teamwork, and exploration of biblical history. The response confirmed the potential of a Bible-based video game for a global audience.
In Gate Zero, players take on the role of Max, a teenager from the future. Guided by his grandmotherâs Bible and aided by his cousin Hectorâs time-scanning device, Max becomes a âcyber archaeologist,â traveling back in time to gather evidence of historical events. The storyline, entirely rooted in Scripture, encourages players to engage with the Bible in a dynamic and interactive way. Solli compared the gameâs tone to George Orwellâs 1984, emphasizing the tension between oppressive control and the pursuit of truth.

As the Christian gaming industry grows, Templar Media sees Gate Zero as part of a larger trend: high-quality entertainment that communicates biblical values while appealing to younger generations. By combining compelling storytelling, modern gameplay mechanics, and a fully Bible-based narrative, the game promises to offer an experience that is both educational and entertaining. With the backing of Templar Media, the team behind Gate Zero is poised to redefine faith-based gaming and reach players who want meaningful content that aligns with their beliefs.
