This year’s Met Gala transformed the Metropolitan Museum of Art into a celebration of elegance, theatricality, and impeccable tailoring. The star-studded event paid tribute to the refined artistry of Black dandyism—a style rooted in bold expression, polished silhouettes, and attention to detail. The red carpet was alive with fashion moments that honored the theme while showcasing the individuality of each guest.

Here are five standout looks that stole the spotlight.

1. Diana Ross

Diana Ross made a triumphant return to the fashion spotlight in a show-stopping ensemble pulled from her own archive. Dressed in a bejeweled white gown with an 18-foot-long train, Ross embodied diva glamour at its peak.

A voluminous feathered cape and an oversized matching hat completed the look, with her son Evan Ross dutifully adjusting the details. It was a moment that nodded both to Ross’s legendary status and the opulence of dandy style, wrapped in her signature elegance.

2. Zendaya

Zendaya, ever the red carpet trailblazer, took a sharp detour from her usual gowns and opted for a custom cream suit that redefined modern tailoring.

The clean lines of the suit were softened by a dramatic, sculptural hat that hovered above her like a cloud. With her poised stance and unmistakable confidence, Zendaya delivered a masterclass in minimalist drama — proving once again that she is a perennial Met Gala favorite.

3. Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny brought a playful, cultural twist to the evening’s theme with his espresso brown suit that paid homage to Puerto Rican heritage. The crisp tailoring was paired with a stylized pava-inspired hat, offering a fresh interpretation of traditional Black dandy aesthetics. Known for his genre-defying style, the artist balanced edge and tradition in a look that was both polished and personal.

4. Colman Domingo

Colman Domingo embraced the spotlight with not one, but two jaw-dropping ensembles. He first appeared in a royal blue gown that featured a sparkling oversized collar — a bold look that seamlessly blended theatrical flair with refined elegance.

Later, he changed into a pearl-detailed blazer with a floral brooch and a polka-dotted handkerchief tie, exuding charm and sophistication. Domingo’s fashion presence at the gala underscored his growing reputation as a red carpet force.

5. Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter made waves in a merlot pinstripe bodysuit and cropped blazer designed by Louis Vuitton. With a subtle train that added movement and flair, the look channeled a pin-up energy while staying grounded in sharp tailoring.

It was a confident step into more daring territory for the pop star, and a clear highlight of the evening’s more playful takes on dandyism.
