Faith meets cinematic intensity in the highly anticipated return of The Chosen, as Prime Video reveals the official trailer for Season 5: Last Supper.
Set to premiere on June 15, 2025, the new season will roll out in three parts over three consecutive weeks—episodes 1 and 2 on June 15, episodes 3 to 5 on June 22, and the final three episodes on June 29.
Following a successful theatrical run that grossed nearly $60 million domestically and over $140 million worldwide in 55 countries, The Chosen continues to build momentum as it transitions to its digital premiere.
Season 5 draws viewers deep into Jesus’ final days before the crucifixion, offering a powerful retelling of pivotal moments from the Gospels. Shot with a sense of reverence and cinematic excellence, this chapter highlights themes of loyalty, betrayal, and divine purpose.
The newly released trailer gives fans an emotionally charged glimpse into what awaits. Jonathan Roumie, reprising his acclaimed role as Jesus, is seen flipping tables and driving out money changers from the temple. “My house should be a house of prayer, but you make it a den of thieves!” he proclaims.
These moments capture the mounting tensions between Jesus and the religious authorities, while a quiet but ominous Judas, played by Luke Dimyan, watches in the shadows.
According to the official synopsis, The Chosen: Last Supper begins with Jesus entering Jerusalem to celebratory cheers but soon finds Himself at the center of conflict and opposition.
Religious leaders plot to suppress His influence, while Jesus prepares His disciples for the ultimate sacrifice. Central to this season is the depiction of the Last Supper, a profound and emotional farewell to His closest followers, just before betrayal and suffering begin to unfold.
Returning cast members include Shahar Isaac as Peter, Paras Patel as Matthew, Elizabeth Tabish as Mary Magdalene, Noah James as Andrew, George H. Xanthis as John, and Vanessa Benavente as Mother Mary. Paul Ben-Victor steps in as King Herod, with Richard Fancy as Caiaphas and Andrew James Allen as Pontius Pilate.
Dallas Jenkins, the series creator, once again helms the project. He shared that Season 5 represents the most emotionally charged and spiritually intense arc yet. “It’s a melee of emotions and conflict,” Jenkins said in a recent interview. “It’s our most beautiful and complex season, touching the climax of Jesus’ earthly ministry.”
The Chosen is produced by Jenkins’ 5&2 Studios in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios. Earlier this year, Amazon secured exclusive U.S. streaming rights for Seasons 1 through 5, along with upcoming Seasons 6 and 7, which will chronicle the crucifixion and resurrection.
For audiences in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sub-Saharan Africa, the UK, and Latin America, Season 5 will also be available on Prime Video in July. Until then, fans can catch up on the journey by streaming Seasons 1 to 4 now.
