The holidays are upon us and BroadwayWorld is continuing our favorite annual tradition of celebrating the holiday season with a Twelve Days of Christmas countdown. This year we are featuring some of our favorite members of the 2025 Broadway scene to share their most cherished holiday songs, films, and performances. This year’s countdown is sponsored by The Artist, streaming now on the Network.
In the twilight of the Gilded Age an eccentric, failing tycoon (Mandy Patinkin) and his brilliant wife (Janet McTeer) host an ensemble of the era’s biggest celebrities including Thomas Edison, Edgar Degas and Evelyn Nesbit. The gathering soon turns deadly. The Artist also stars Danny Huston, Patti LuPone, Hank Azaria, Clark Gregg, Zachary Quinto and more. Cynthia Nixon has a lot to celebrate this holiday season! The acclaimed actress is back on Broadway Marjorie Prime, now running at the Hayes Theatre. On opening night, she hit the red carpet to share some of her favorite holiday tunes.

Carrie Coon is back on Broadway this holiday season! After taking the world be storm with acclaimed appearances in The Gilded Age and The White Lotus, she returns to the stage in Bug, written by her husband a frequent collaborator Tracy Letts. During a break from rehearsals, she shared which music gets her family in the spirit every year.

It wouldn’t be a proper Broadway season without the presence of Danny Burstein, who this year is appearing in his 21st Broadway show- Marjorie Prime. On opening night he paused to tell us which movie is a Christmas staple in his house.

Coming up next at Audible Theater is the world premiere of The Disappear, a new comedy written and directed by BAFTA Award nominee Erica Schmidt. One of its stars is stage and screen veteran Hamish Linklater, who during a break from rehearsals, shared how he gets into the holiday spirit every season.

The Stephen Sondheim Theatre stage is getting kandi koated this holiday season. The singer, songwriter, producer, and television icon Kandi Burruss just joined the Broadway cast of & Juliet. Kandi took a break from rehearsals to tell us about the music that puts her in the holiday spirit.

It’s been almost four years since Broadway has seen a new Tracy Letts play. This season, audiences will be treated to his latest, Bug, which opens at the Samuel J. Theatre in the new year (January 8, 2026). During a break from rehearsals, he took a minute to reflect on which Christmas traditions put his family in the holiday spirit every year.

There’s something about Christopher Lowell and the holidays on Broadway that just go together. For the second season in a row, the stage and screen star is appearing on Broadway, this time in Marjorie Prime, running now at the Hayes Theater. On opening night, he told us about what music he relies on every Christmas.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow might be all about thrills and chills, but its cast still gets warm and fuzzy during the holiday season. Two of its stars, Louis McCartney and Alex Breaux told us about two Christmas films that they can’t get enough of every year.
