Despite issues inherent in their relationship over the course of three years, it cannot be denied that one of the showbiz couples who have been envied and seemingly set a relationship goal are Kapuso star Bea Alonzo and Kapamilya actor Dominic Roque.

But how did their love story begin? Let’s go back and revisit it.

Everyone knows the complexities Bea went through with her ex-boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, so the public really anticipated her next relationship. And then came Dominic Roque in July 2021.

Dating rumors surrounding Bea and Dominic ignited when the actor left a kiss emoji on one of Bea’s Instagram posts in July 2021. Adding fuel to the fire, Bea later posted a “photo dump” of her California road trip featuring Dominic, leading to increased speculation among fans. Additionally, she shared a picture of them taken from above at Yosemite National Park, accompanied only by a red heart emoji in the caption.

In August 2021, Bea officially acknowledged her relationship with Dominic during an interview with Nelson Canlas on “24 Oras.” Bea disclosed that they had been friends for several years prior to becoming romantically involved. Their romantic journey commenced during an impromptu trip to Japan.

The ex-couple had a mutual passion for travel. In November 2022, they embarked on a trip to various cities in Italy, including Milan and Verona. Moreover, the couple ventured into the snowy peaks of Switzerland. 

In June 2023, marking two years into their relationship, Bea found herself surrounded by engagement rumors following Dominic’s posting of romantic beach photos of them at Amanpulo, Palawan. However, Bea swiftly dispelled these speculations, clarifying that the beach photos were actually taken “a few years ago.”

Several weeks following her clarification, Dominic popped the question to Bea on July 18, 2023, at Las Casas Quezon City. The Kapuso star was taken aback by the proposal, as she had believed she was only there for a photoshoot. They made their initial public appearance as an engaged couple at GMA Gala. Immediately following the event, they jetted off to Singapore.

In September 2023, the couple embarked on a European adventure, revisiting cities in Italy and Switzerland. In an Instagram post, Bea affectionately referred to Dominic as her “favorite human.” By December, before 2023 ended, they ventured to Sapporo and Niseko in Hokkaido, Japan over the holidays.

They participated in a cherished tradition by placing their names on a love padlock and affixing it to the railings of the Bell of Happiness on Mount Moiwa. This customary practice is thought to bestow good fortune and foster enduring relationships for lovers. This can be watched on Bea’s YouTube channel. 

Upon entering January 2024, speculation arose that the wedding might not push through and that the relationship between the two was becoming strained. Netizens sensed that something was amiss because Bea was reportedly not wearing her engagement ring.

Additionally, Bea couldn’t provide any details about the wedding, despite Dominic’s statement that they were already preparing for it. And on February 6, Asia’s King of Talk, Boy Abunda himself, confirmed that the two have parted ways on his program “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on GMA Network.
