Located in eastern Taiwan, Hualien is blessed with magnificent mountain ranges and a stunning Pacific coastline. In recent years, it has embraced the tourism brand “City of Healing,” showcasing to international travelers a destination where nature, culture, and slow living come together. The Hualien County Government has invited popular South Korean cheerleader An Ji-Hyun to serve as an ambassador for Hualien’s hospitality sector, welcoming travelers from Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong to experience a restorative journey through Hualien’s mountains and along its coast.

Exploring Hualien from an international traveler’s perspective, An Ji-Hyun visited the Qixingtan coast and distinctive local accommodations, sampled local cuisine, and experienced a more leisurely pace away from the bustle of city travel. With its long stretch of pebble coastline and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, Qixingtan serves as a key gateway to experiencing Hualien’s “City of Healing.”

The Hualien County Government is also promoting the development of tourism-related industries around Qixingtan by connecting accommodations, dining, local souvenirs, and tourism experiences. Multilingual smart-guide services, digital stamp rallies, cyclist-friendly facilities, and low-carbon travel services are also being introduced, making it easier for international independent travelers to explore the area and experience its local character in greater depth.

Hualien invites travelers from around the world to follow in An Ji-Hyun’s footsteps—visit Qixingtan, stay in Hualien, and rediscover their own travel rhythm amid the sound of Pacific waves and the everyday beauty of life between the mountains and the sea.
