The Pet Summit Philippines 2023 is a pet trade show that was held on April 14-16, 2023 at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay. It welcomed all pet lovers, fanciers and enthusiasts of all ages from all over the world, and was organized by Karla Kangleon and Mae Domingo.

Cats of Manila and Hound Haven Philippines had booths where they sell merchandise. Their animal rescues were also there and available for adoption. Most of their profits go toward raising the felines and canines in their care. The same goes for the Philippine Animal Welfare Sosciety (PAWS).

One may note that t he animal welfare organizations who participated were Biyaya Animal Care, Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Compassion and Responsibility for Animals (CARA), Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) and PCVSO.

A highlight of Day 1 was the ‘KarmaCritterz Cosplay Pet & Handler Costume Showdown,’ in which the theme was futuristic-retro. There was a breed show on Day 2, as well as a live search and rescue demonstration from the UPMMDA Vanguard K9. The garden ring area served as the venue for the exotic birds’ free flight show, while the fashion show for the runway collection of Ezydog Phils. happened on the main stage.

There’s a plethora of choices for pet nourishment which include both new as well established brands like Jungle from Turkey, Saint Roche Premium Organiz Dog Shampoo from Taguig/Cavite, Diamond Naturals from USA, Topbreed (by Robina Agri) from Pasig, Josera from Germany, Happy Pets from Antipolo, etc.

Of course, wholesale pet needs suppliers and insurance companies were also present like Pet & Peers, Standard Insurance, Safe House (free shampoo bar for 500php purchase), Easy Scoop, Himalaya, Dogs and the City, Vetmate Farma, Carchi Pets, etc.

Exotic animals were up for grabs as well as their corresponding supplies at exhibitors like Exo Terra, KEEP Exotic Pets, etc. “Dog Whisperer” Lestre Zapanta was spotted visiting the CARA Welfare Philippines Booth. Klane Zurbano busked her heart out with Wanda the Wandering Maltese

An important product that re-launced at the trade show was Pawnec, which functions as a smart ID, a pet tracker, and an alert system for dogs and cats. Whooppy, Pet Discount, and Fanfreluche, constant exhibitors at the trade show, were just some of those who were able to sell out their goods. Pet’s Own Milk, a brand known for its high quality lactose-free milk perfect for weaning kittens and puppies, and making adult pets healthier, sold out as early as 5 o’clock in the afternoon.

The booths of Heartgard and Nexgard, both under Boehringer Ingelheim, and are popular heartworm and tick prevention brands, have also sold out.

On Day 3, Powerdog, Powercat and Powersand were suddenly discounted at 50% off at 7:15pm on the dot. “Talagang pinlano ko yan on the last day. Whatever is left dun sa stocks ko on the second day will be sold up to 50% off from 7 to 9 of the last night,” said Pao Balagtas, the CEO handling these brands under Powerpets Philippines, Inc. A Malaysian executive of the brand from the Rawnag head office was also present during the trade show.

Earlier, Powercat and Powerdog were the sponsors for the ‘Karmacritterz Hunt, Snap, and Win’ contest where one would have to take a selfie from the list of places provided. AKF Animal Rescue staff members were happy campers since a donor gave them a generous amount. They raffled an overnight stay at their sanctuary, aptly called the ‘Bed Bark N’ Breakfast’ scheme. When one looks it up on AirBnB, the rental unit’s priced at Php10,000 for just a single guest.

The different tiers when it comes to the more than 100 exhibitors and partners of the Pet Summit Philippines 2023 are: Platinum Exhibitora, Gold Exhibitors, Silver Exhibitors, Copper Exhibitors, Table Exhibitors, AWG Partners, Hotels & Resorts Partners, and Media Partners.

Pet Summit Philippines first started in 2014, and was held back then at BGC.
