They are cuddling and petting cute koalas up close, feeding dolphins out of their hands, riding camels, and striding alongside llamas. It’s simple to understand why when you consider the extensive selection of unforgettable experiences veing offered.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

The first and largest koala refuge in the world, Lone Pine Koala refuge is also Brisbane’s favorite native animal sanctuary. You may hand-feed kangaroos here without any boundaries, get up close and personal with the local population of over 100 koalas, and see other Australian species like platypuses and owls here in these lovely surroundings.

By calling the Brisbane Visitor Information Centre at 07 3006 6290, admission is less expensive. Day-to-day operations are from 9 am to 5 pm. 

Daisy Hill Koala Centre

This koala education center is a great site to learn about koalas and their conservation and is situated in the Daisy Hill Conservation Park, 25 kilometers south of Brisbane. Koalas cannot be touched or held, however, they may be seen up close from observation platforms, and there is a daily koala keeper discourse.

Entrance is free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. The area is appropriate for wheelchairs. 

Walkabout Creek Wildlife Centre

This wildlife center, located on the edge of the D’Aguilar National Park just 12 km from the Brisbane CBD, is home to native wildlife that is preserved in displays that mimic their natural habitat. View the nighttime residence or stroll through the beautiful subtropical aviary that resembles a jungle. 

Adults pay $7.70, children pay $3.70, and a family pass is $19.5.  Day-to-day operations are from 9 am to 4 pm. 

Birds of Prey, O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat

At the Birds of Prey performance at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, you may observe owls and Wedge-Tailed Eagles performing incredible aerobatics as they are in unconstrained flight. Additionally, you’ll get a chance to meet the show’s stars and take pictures with them.

The cost of the show is $20 for adults, $12 for kids, and $55 for families. This is held from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. 

Tangalooma Island Resort

Visiting Brisbane? Make sure to go on a trip to Tangalooma Island Resort on Moreton Island! There you can experience the amazing opportunity of hand feeding wild bottlenose dolphins. The resort also offers whale watching tours from June to October, along with various other activities such as boat trips to the Tangalooma Shipwrecks, Desert Safari Cruise, and Marine Discovery Cruise. The daily kookaburra and sea bird educational presentations by the Eco Rangers are also worth experiencing. 

Day cruises include lunch and start from $89 for adults and $49 for children. Furthermore, a large number of overnight lodging packages come with a Wild Dolphin Feeding encounter at no additional cost.

FRIENDLY FARM ANIMALS AND FANTASTIC ZOOS

Australia Zoo

This is the biggest animal park in Brisbane, with 100 acres of land to explore just an hour’s drive away from the city. The renowned Irwin family owns Australia Zoo, which provides visitors with the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals, including crocodiles, wombats, and Tasman devils as well as snakes, rhinos, tigers, red pandas, and cheetahs.  

Entry is $59.95 for individuals, $39.95 for kids, and $182.95 for a family. You can avoid the lines by purchasing express tickets from the Brisbane Visitor Information Centre. Animal encounters are more expensive. Day-to-day operations are from 9 am to 5 pm.

Summer Land Camels

You may ride and feed camels while learning about camel milk’s advantages for the immune system and its anti-aging properties at Australia’s largest wild camel training facility. The farm shop sells camel skincare products, and the cafe serves delectable country fare like camel milk gelato, camel sausage rolls, and camel pies. 

Prices for various camel adventures start at $30. The Farm Tour & Taste activity’s only $25. Day-to-day operations are from 9 am to 3 pm.  

Towri Sheep Cheeses

Say cheese! I mean, sheep cheese. On weekdays, bus tours to the Towri Farm can be scheduled for groups of 30 or more. This includes access to the French-style gardens, a milking demonstration, cheese platters, and sheep cuddling time! The public is welcome to Towri Sheep Cheeses on the first Saturday of every month. A cheese-making workshop for individuals who truly adore cheese can be scheduled upon request.

Monday through Friday, group bus trips cost $35 per person. Reservations are required. The first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is open to the public.

Lyell Deer Sanctuary

At the Lyell Deer Sanctuary on Mount Sansom, you may get up close and personal with these kind animals in a tranquil environment. They can be fed, played with, and cuddled. 

$5 for adults and $3 for kids are the entrance fees. It operates 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and weekdays, by request.

White Ridge Farm

Everyone may enjoy a delightful farm experience at White Ridge Farm. You can observe horses, llamas, and other creatures there. There are interactive bunny and guinea pig areas, a playground, and a picnic area in addition to the opportunity to feed the animals.  

Mini golf, animal feeding, and a hay ride are all included in the entry fee of $75 for families and $25 for adults. It operates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

Tommerup’s Dairy Farm

Sixth generation operational dairy farm, Tommerup’s Dairy Farm in Kerry Valley, offers real overnight farm stays where guests can take part in everyday activities or just unwind. 

Visit during one of the designated dates for farm open days if you don’t wish to stay the night. 

Mountview Alpaca Farm

Mountview Alpaca Farm is located on the grounds of Canungra Valley Vineyards. You may engage with the alpacas here, take them for walks, and even have a picnic in the lovely  surroundings. 

Open 9:30am–3:30pm from Monday through Friday and 9am–4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
