Charli XCX dominated the night, taking home five prestigious awards. Having already led the nominations, Charli’s album Brat became the centerpiece of her victories. Her win for British Album of the Year was a fitting tribute to an album that captured both the chaos and emotional turmoil of her creative journey.

Charli’s eclectic mix of dance beats and reflective lyrics, paired with her collaboration with Billie Eilish on the track “Guess,” earned her not only Best Dance Act but also the coveted British Artist of the Year. Charli’s candid acceptance speech echoed her deep connection to the electronic genre, as she expressed how dance music offers her a euphoric escape.

Chappell Roan, another highlight of the night, won Best International Song for “Good Luck, Babe!” and International Artist of the Year

Although absent from the ceremony, Chappell’s video messages resonated with the audience as she credited her success to the legacy of artists who paved the way for her.

Stormzy, known for his commanding presence in the British hip-hop scene, clinched his fourth BRIT Award, winning Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act

Despite a bruised eye from a recent padel accident, Stormzy delivered his speech with characteristic charm and humility, joking about his injury while expressing gratitude for the continued support of his fans. His win is a testament to his enduring influence and innovation in the rap scene.

Myles Smith, whose rise to fame was propelled by the viral success of his anthem “Stargazing,” took home the Rising Star award. Smith’s journey from a regular job to a viral pop sensation was one of the most inspiring stories of the night.

His feel-good pop sound and relatable lyrics have captured the hearts of many, and his win signals the beginning of what promises to be an exciting career.

Ezra Collective made history by winning British Group of the Year, marking the first time a jazz band claimed the award. The London-based group’s infectious energy and genre-blending sound set them apart from the more traditional rock and pop nominees.

In his speech, frontman Femi Koleoso passionately advocated for music education, emphasizing the importance of providing young people with the opportunity to play instruments and pursue their artistic dreams.
