Fans and netizens were surprised by the announcement of the wedding of Kapamilya stars Charlie Dizon and Carlo Aquino this Sunday, June 9.

On Instagram, Myio Okamato Photography posted pictures from the couple’s wedding ceremony held on Sunday. At the wedding, Charlie was dressed in a gown designed by Steph Tan. “Congratulations Carlo and Charlie!” it can be read in the caption, tagged with Charlie and Carlo’s Instagram accounts. 

Star Magic posted several photos of the ceremony, which was held at a private resort in Silang, Cavite. Reports also mentioned that the ceremony was attended by other celebrities such as Belle Mariano, Loisa Andalio, Elisse Joson, Sue Ramirez, Maricel Soriano, and ABS-CBN executives Carlo Katigbak, Cory Vidanes, Laurenti Dyogi, Charo Santos-Concio, among others.

As of now, both Carlo and Charlie have yet to post about the wedding. However, before the wedding, the actor shared a meaningful Instagram post hinting at the event. 

“Unti unti natin gagapangin ang buhay ng nakatawa @charliedizon_,” Carlo captioned. In the photo shared by Carlo, he and Charlie can be seen together on the grass, with a body of water visible behind them.

Charlie replied “I love you.” 

Rumors about their wedding spread on Sunday after Charlie accepted the “Best Actress” award at the 47th Gawad Urian held at De La Salle University on Saturday. According to a report by PEP, many people heard Charlie’s manager say that the award was a “wedding gift” for the actress. However, when Charlie was asked about it, she avoided giving a direct answer.

Monday, June 10, Carlo posted their pre-nuptial music video. 

Carlo and Charlie were first rumored to be dating in late 2022 after being seen together in La Union. In January 2023, the actor confirmed that they were “going out” and were in the “getting to know” stage. He mentioned that they initially met while working on the 2020 ABS-CBN series A Soldier’s Heart, got to know each other better during the Star Magic US tour in August 2022, and continued seeing each other afterward.

The two also co-starred in the 2023 film “Third World Romance” that made Charlie the Best Actress for the Gawad Urian. Carlo was also nominated for the “Best Actor” category but Romnick Sarmenta bagged the award, for the movie “About Us But Not About Us.”

Previously, Aquino was in a relationship with Trina Candaza, with whom he has a daughter, Enola Mithi. He confirmed their breakup in April 2022.

Charlie, who rose to fame as a Star Magic artist after being part of series and movies like “Seven Sundays,” “Four Sisters Before The Wedding,” and “Fan Girl,” which won her the Best Actress award at the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) during the pandemic, does not make her love life public.
