In a fusion of technology and athletic performance, HUAWEI has partnered with Pretty Huge, a top-tier sports facility in SM Aura, BGC, PH to let athletes put the HUAWEI FreeArc open-ear earbuds through their paces. The collaboration, running until May 30, 2025, provided a real-world proving ground where intense workouts met audio innovation.
Athletes across various disciplines—from high-intensity interval training to rigorous strength conditioning—were quick to notice the FreeArc’s secure and comfortable fit. Its C-Bridge design, optimized with a 140° Optimal Triangle structure and gravity-balanced architecture, was key to its stability.
Whether sprinting, jumping, or flipping upside down, users like Ebong Sonido reported that the earbuds didn’t budge. “I’ve never worn anything this secure,” Ebong shared, highlighting the importance of fit in performance gear.
The FreeArc’s design goes beyond stability. Made with skin-friendly liquid silicone and a Ni-Ti shape-memory alloy, it offers breathability and long-wear comfort. “It’s like I’m not wearing anything at all,” said one athlete after a particularly grueling bootcamp session.
The ergonomic S-shaped curves and droplet-style earhooks adapt to various ear shapes, ensuring they remain unobtrusive even during the sweatiest routines.
Sound quality was another standout feature. With a highly sensitive 17x12mm driver, multi-EQ modes, and a dual-microphone layout, the FreeArc delivered crisp, balanced audio. Ralph Combalicer, who tested the FreeArc alongside the HUAWEI Watch Fit 4, remarked, “The bass keeps me pumped, but I can still hear my coach clearly.”
The open-ear structure also allowed athletes to stay alert to their surroundings—a critical feature for group training and gym safety.
Connectivity and durability rounded out the FreeArc’s performance credentials. Its advanced smart antenna maintained stable connections up to 400 meters—ideal for Pretty Huge’s expansive training zones.
With IP57 water resistance, the earbuds easily withstood the Philippine heat and the sweat-soaked sessions that came with it. “I sweat a lot, and these kept working like nothing happened,” Ralph noted, underscoring the reliability athletes demand from their gear.
Battery performance also earned praise. The FreeArc provides up to 7 hours of playback on a single charge, extended to 28 hours with its case. A 10-minute quick charge delivers three more hours—perfect for athletes on tight schedules.
Coupled with dual-device connectivity and intuitive gesture controls, it helped athletes stay focused without fumbling with their devices.
Ultimately, the HUAWEI FreeArc proved itself not just as a piece of tech, but as a true training partner. At Pretty Huge, it wasn’t just tested—it was pushed to its limits by athletes who demand the best from every rep, every set, and every session.
