The Taguig Arts Festival 2026 was officially launched at Vista Mall Taguig at Camella Taguig Road, Bagong Calzada, Brgy. Tuktukan, Taguig City last February 28, 2026 at 10:30AM with a ribbon-cutting ceremony spearheaded by Taguig City Government officials — Taguig City Mayor Maria Laarni “Lani” Cayetano with Cong. Jorge Daniel Bocobo, Think Big Taguig Head Chi Bocobo, and other special guests.

A mini program then followed starting with an opening prayer and the singing of the national anthem. Mayor Lani Cayetano also delivered her Opening Remarks. In her speech, Mayor Cayetano shared the meaning and value of art from her viewpoint. “Alam niyo po ang epekto ng sining sa akin, malalim. Kapag magulo na ang mundo, ang arts ay napakaganda pong escape, sa totoo lang. Sa sining, walang maingay na pulitika. Diba po? Sa sining, may kapayapaan. Tama ba? Kapag tumitingin ako minsan sa mga gawang-sining, anuman ang porma nito, there’s a certain joy, a certain peace na hindi mo maipaliwanag. Nangungusap ‘yan sa ‘yo. At alam niyo, malaking failure ng isang gubyerno o tayo man dito sa Lungsod ng Taguig kapag hindi natin ginamit ang sining as a tool to connect to our constituents. At ayaw nating maging failure sa City of Taguig, diba?” Mayor Cayetano stated.

The crowd attending the official launch was also entertained by a performance by the dance group, United as One, whose dance moves electrified the stage. Inside Vista Mall Taguig’s Atrium, the Taguig Arts Festival 2026 featured an Art Exhibit by the Taguig Artists Group, along with the Art Mart, which featured art booths selling stickers, postcards, stationery, plushies, jewelry and trinkets featuring the works of local artpreneurs.

Concurrently, several on-site creative workshops and an on-the-spot painting competition were held beginning 9:00AM on the same day at the TLC Park, Lakeshore Activity Center in Brgy. Lower Bicutan, Taguig.  The creative workshops included dance, theater, bead making, cosplay talk, coffee making, art appreciation talk, candle making, photography talk, and a photo walk.

Set on an activity space near the lake, the painting competition gathered young Taguig artists who were guided by the theme of the National Arts Month which is: “Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting”.

A curated film screening of “Sinagtala” directed by Mike Sandejas was also done at Taguig City University (TCU) Auditorium in Brgy. Central Bicutan, Taguig at 2:00PM on the same day. The film featured movie celebrities Rhian Ramos, Rayver Cruz, Glaiza De Castro, Matt Lozano and Arci Muñoz. It was followed by a talkback session with Director Mike Sandejas with the TCU students.

Through this arts festival, the City of Taguig gave its support to the local creative sector by rolling out access to platforms for artistic expression, empowering collaboration, and meaningful cultural exchange. It also aimed to foreground local narratives and to nurture emerging artists in the city.

This arts festival was a two-day festivity, which brought together local artists, culture advocates, residents, and visitors of Taguig City, characterized by a dynamic synergy of artistic collaboration and creative expression.
