Ex-Bachelor Star Shares Message to Silence Life’s Noise

Life can feel overwhelming at times, filled with constant noise, distractions, and pressure to conform. For many, it’s a challenge to find a sense of clarity and peace amid the chaos. Madison Puit Trout, former finalist on ABC’s The Bachelor, offers a powerful message for anyone striving to silence the noise and live a life grounded in truth and purpose. Since her time on the show, Madison has grown into a devoted wife, mother, author, and speaker, using her platform to share her faith and inspire others.

Madison’s journey toward finding true freedom began with recognizing the lies that often hold people captive. In her latest book, Dare to Be True, she writes, “There are a lot of us that know the truth, but not a lot of us that live out that truth. And we feel bound in our minds, in our relationships, in our emotions.” She emphasizes that understanding God’s truth is only the first step—freedom comes when we actively embrace it and apply it to every part of our lives.

Her own life provides a vivid example of this principle. Madison recalls a frightening experience in her new home with her husband, Grant, where a hidden gas leak caused health issues and uncertainty. Reflecting on the metaphor this provided, she says, “We had just been living with something that was slowly killing us. And I think that is true for a lot of us that we are living with things that maybe we can’t see with our own eyes.” Just as a hidden danger in their house required careful attention to discover, spiritual and emotional burdens often remain unseen but have the power to diminish our joy and purpose if left unaddressed.

Madison’s commitment to transparency extends to her personal struggles as well. She courageously shares her battle with secret sins and the weight of shame, emphasizing the importance of confession and accountability. “The power of confession and to kill shame and to kill sin is to confess it. It talks about in James 5 that we are to confess our sins to one another and prayer for each other. And that is where we experience healing,” she explains. Through acknowledging struggles openly and seeking guidance, she demonstrates that no one has to face their battles alone.

A central theme of Madison’s message is the role of community in sustaining spiritual and emotional health. She encourages surrounding oneself with friends who pursue purity, godliness, and accountability, stating, “Friends are like the flu…if they are pursuing Jesus with all of their hearts, like, we’re going to be impacted by that.” Choosing the right companions can help cultivate habits of Christian values, reinforce beliefs, and create a supportive environment for growth.

Madison’s message is one of hope and empowerment. She reminds readers that freedom is not a one-time event but a daily choice: “You can break free from what has been breaking you…God has a life of true freedom, and you can not just get free, but stay free.” Her story encourages everyone to actively seek truth, embrace God’s guidance, and silence the noise that distracts from living fully in Christ.
