Mayor Lani Cayetano issued a stern warning to all criminals that illegal drugs and illegal gambling will not be tolerated in Taguig, as she praised the Philippine National Police (PNP) for two consecutive buy-bust operations that netted nearly ₱3 million worth of suspected shabu in less than a week.
On August 12, 2025, operatives of the Southern Police District–Drug Enforcement Unit (SPD–DDEU), in coordination with Taguig City Police Sub-Station 6, arrested four high-value individuals in a buy-bust in Brgy. South Signal.

The suspects—Ali Kamsa, Daud Macalanga, Nasrudin Adil, and Ana Grace Ortiz—were found with approximately 250 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱1.7 million, along with buy-bust money, a red Mazda 2, and other paraphernalia.
Just four days earlier, on August 8, 2025, police in Brgy. Lower Bicutan confiscated ₱1.36 million worth of suspected shabu from three other high-value suspects: Marreon Pagkilalawan Jr., JR Sasil, and Arnold Gellie.
This series of arrests follows April 2025 operations where the Taguig City Police seized over 640 grams of suspected shabu worth more than ₱4.3 million in two buy-busts that led to the capture of three high-value individuals in Barangays Upper and Western Bicutan.
“These are not minor arrests. These are high-value drug personalities who have been preying on our communities. I thank the PNP, especially the Southern Police District and the Taguig City Police, for their swift action and dedication. If you deal drugs in Taguig, you will be caught, prosecuted, and face the full weight of the law,” said Mayor Lani.
The mayor highlighted that her administration maintains a zero tolerance stance against drugs and gambling:
“Illegal drugs and gambling destroy lives, tear apart families, and put our neighborhoods at risk. We will not allow that to happen in Taguig. Our police will continue aggressive enforcement, and the City will sustain mandatory random drug testing in government offices and high-risk sectors.”
The Taguig Anti-Drug Abuse Office (TADAO) has been enforcing this policy through comprehensive drug testing for both current employees and job applicants. From June 2022 to August 2025, 314 city employees tested positive during random testing — all of whom were immediately terminated. In the same period, 169 job applicants failed pre-employment drug tests and were denied entry into city service.
Mayor Lani asked the public to report all illegal drugs and illegal gambling activities in the City.
