Nicki Minaj Backs Nigerian Christians, Cites Bible Against Bloodshed

Nicki Minaj has drawn global attention after publicly standing with persecuted Christians in Nigeria, using Scripture to condemn the ongoing violence and bloodshed they face. Through a series of posts on X and remarks at the United Nations, the artist framed her advocacy not as politics, but as a moral and spiritual call rooted in Christian faith.

In multiple posts, Minaj expressed unwavering allegiance to Christ, declaring, “On Christ the solid rock I stand,” before issuing a direct plea: “FREE THE CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA!” Her words echoed the cries of believers who have endured years of attacks, displacement, and fear. Christian organizations have long warned that these atrocities amount to a genocide that has been ignored by much of the world.

One of Minaj’s most striking messages was her repeated command, “SHED NOT THEIR BLOOD ANYMORE,” addressed to nations and leaders alike. By invoking biblical language, she reminded her audience that God hears the cries of His people and holds nations accountable for innocent blood. Scripture affirms this truth, declaring, “The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground” (Genesis 4:10).

Minaj also shared an extended passage from Matthew 7:17–24, where Jesus teaches that true faith is revealed by its fruit and obedience. By quoting this passage, she underscored a sobering reality: faith without righteous action is empty. Christ Himself warned that not everyone who claims His name truly follows His will. For many Christians, Minaj’s post served as a reminder that silence in the face of injustice contradicts the teachings of Jesus.

Her advocacy extended beyond social media. In November, Minaj addressed the United Nations, speaking plainly about the persecution of Christians worldwide, with particular emphasis on Nigeria. She described churches burned, families torn apart, and communities living in constant fear simply because of how they pray. Her message emphasized that religious freedom is a fundamental human right and that defending it should unite, not divide, humanity.

Minaj also expressed gratitude for international attention on Nigeria’s religious freedom crisis, noting how blessed it is to live in a nation where worship is freely practiced. She encouraged believers not to ignore suffering abroad, but to respond with prayer, awareness, and compassion. The Bible urges this posture, saying, “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them” (Hebrews 13:3).

While Nicki Minaj is known globally for music and pop culture influence, her recent statements reveal a willingness to use that platform for a higher purpose. Her words echo the biblical call to defend the oppressed and speak for those whose voices are silenced. Proverbs 31:8 commands, “Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.”

In standing with Nigerian Christians, Minaj has reminded the world that faith must be lived boldly. Her message is clear: persecution cannot be ignored, innocent blood must not be shed, and believers everywhere are called to stand firm on the solid rock of Christ alone.
