In line with the administration’s goal of bringing essential social services closer to Filipinos, Education Secretary Sonny Angara joined President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. during his second visit to Aurora to extend support to learners, teachers, and communities in the province.
Earlier in the day, President Marcos, Jr. visited Baler to meet with tourism workers affected by recent natural disasters, awarding financial aid to 1,197 beneficiaries under the Bayanihan sa Bukas na May Pag-asa sa Turismo (BBMT) program.

To further ensure the health and welfare of teachers and learners, the President also led the Yaman ng Kalusugan (YAKAP) caravan at Aurora National High School. The initiative provided free medical services, including eye checkups for around 200 elementary pupils, as well as health support for some 350 teachers, non-teaching staff, and high school students.
President Marcos also paid tribute to the late Senate President Edgardo Angara by visiting his mausoleum, honoring his significant contributions to education, agriculture, and culture in the Philippines.
“As an Auroreño, I am deeply grateful for our President’s initiative in bringing these essential services to our province. Malaking tulong ito para masiguro ang maayos na kalagayan ng ating mga kababayan—lalo na ng ating mga mag-aaral at guro. Bonus na rin sa akin na naka-bisita siya sa aking ama,” Secretary Angara said.
According to the 2023 report of the Philippine Statistics Authority, Aurora was among the provinces in Central Luzon that posted a 4.6% economic growth in 2023, with its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reaching ₱34.43 billion during the same period. This steady growth reflects how Auroreños have become more dynamic and diversified, maximizing the province’s rich resources and potential.
More than a year ago, President Marcos, together with Secretary Angara, also extended a ₱10-million grant to the provincial government of Aurora to support local development projects and provide farm machinery to farmers and fisherfolk, helping boost agricultural productivity in the province.
