Taguig City has rolled out the house-to-house distribution of its Special Needs Assistance for Persons with Disability, providing additional ₱2,000 in cash aid to 35,522 registered beneficiaries across the city.
The initiative is based on Ordinance No. 194, passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod, which grants cash assistance amounting to ₱1,000 every July and another ₱1,000 every December to all registered persons with disability.

Mayor Lani Cayetano, joined by Councilors Ed Prado and Bing Villamor, led the ceremonial distribution in Barangay South Signal on Monday, October 7, aided by personnel from the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO) and City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
“Masayang-masaya po tayo ngayong araw na ito, truly a blessing for the City of Taguig. At ako ay nagpapasalamat sa ating Panginoon sa napakarami Niyang biyaya at syempre sa ating mga taxpayers at sa ating mga kababayan.”
Among the first recipients was Nicasio Baes Jr., represented by his wife Merly, who said the financial help would go a long way in meeting her husband’s needs:
“Masaya dahil malaking bagay po, malaking tulong sa kanya [dahil] marami siyang mga pangangailangan. Malaking halaga ‘yung ganitong programa ni Mayor.”
The Special Needs Assistance program aims to provide financial relief to registered persons with disability, promote inclusion, and reflect Taguig’s vision as a Transformative, Lively, and Caring City where all citizens, regardless of ability, can live fulfilling and independent lives. It also aims to strengthen social and economic participation by ensuring continuous support for persons with disability.
Qualified beneficiaries must be residents of Taguig, aged 0 to 59 years old, and registered in the Taguig City Person with Disability Registry maintained by PDAO.
Through this initiative, registered persons with disability in Taguig will now receive a total of ₱3,000 annually—₱1,000 every July during National Disability Rights Week, ₱1,000 every December for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and another ₱1,000 as a birthday cash gift.
