The Taguig City Police marked a significant achievement in its intensified campaign against illegal drugs after a local court sentenced a drug peddler to life imprisonment following a buy-bust operation in Ibayo-Tipas last year.

In a 20-page Joint Judgment, the Regional Trial Court Branch 266 found Jenny Magbalana guilty beyond reasonable doubt of selling and possessing methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, confirming that the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) conducted a legitimate and well-documented operation.

The July 2024 operation led to the confiscation of more than 22 grams of shabu, including the 4.67 grams she sold to an undercover police officer using marked money. An additional ten sachets of the illegal drug were recovered from the suspect during her arrest.

Authorities credited the conviction to the relentless and thorough efforts of the Taguig police to dismantle drug networks at the community level.

Mayor Lani Cayetano congratulated the Taguig Police for the accomplishment and expressed her appreciation for their dedication to public safety:

Patuloy nating pangangalagaan ang kinabukasan ng ating kabataan at sisiguraduhin nating walang puwang ang droga sa Taguig.”

She added that the City of Taguig will continue to strengthen coordination with the PNP and other agencies to ensure consistent, community-focused, and proactive anti-drug operations that protect homes, schools, and neighborhoods in city.
