“The Chosen,” the acclaimed television series portraying the life of Jesus and his disciples, continues to reach new heights with its latest expansion. The series is set to launch an animated version aimed at younger audiences, while its live-action episodes achieve historic recognition for global accessibility.

The new animated series, titled The Chosen Adventures, follows nine-year-old Abby and her friend Joshua as they explore life in the ancient city of Capernaum. Their encounter with a wise craftsman and teacher—Jesus of Nazareth—transforms the way they perceive the world. The series promises to offer children a unique perspective, showing the Gospels through youthful eyes.
Dallas Jenkins, the creator, writer, and director of The Chosen, revealed that the animated series had been part of his vision since the inception of the live-action show. “When we were first devising Season 1, I remember specifically saying, ‘I’d love to do an episode where we are really spending time with Jesus and seeing Him through the eyes of children,’” Jenkins said in a recent video announcement.
The animated series builds on the success of the episode “Jesus Loves the Little Children” from Season 1, exploring what happens to children after encountering Jesus. Featuring original cast members, including Jonathan Roumie as Jesus and Paras Patel, Brandon Potter, Noah James, and George H. Xanthis reprising their roles, the show aims to present a lighter yet meaningful retelling of the Gospels. Ryan Swanson, creator, executive producer, and writer for the series, highlighted that the animated version offers “an enjoyable walk with Jesus,” making the story both engaging and approachable for young viewers. The Chosen Adventures is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 17.

Alongside the animated series, The Chosen has achieved a remarkable milestone in global reach. The show has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the most translated season for a streaming series. Season 1 has already been dubbed into 58 languages, with closed captions in 86 languages, while Season 5 is being translated into 50 languages. This achievement reflects the series’ mission to make the story of Jesus accessible worldwide.
Partnering with The Come and See Foundation, a nonprofit organization, the series ensures free access for viewers around the globe. Jenkins emphasized that fewer than 5% of global viewers pay for the show, highlighting the critical role of donations in keeping the series freely available. All seven seasons of The Chosen are being made accessible through the official app, with a simplified version, The Chosen Lite, designed for low-bandwidth regions and older devices.

James Barnett, CEO of Come and See, expressed excitement over the milestone, noting that the release of Season 5 on the app allows millions worldwide to experience the series freely. “There is something incredibly powerful about knowing this story and experience are now truly free to the world,” Barnett said.
With its animated adaptation and record-breaking translations, The Chosen continues to bridge cultures and generations, offering a meaningful portrayal of Jesus’ life while inspiring audiences worldwide.
