‘Time is the ultimate wound healer!’ Have Bea Alonzo and Julia Barretto reconciled?

GMA Kapuso star Bea Alonzo was trending on X after a video clip of her meeting with actress Julia Barretto at a tribute party for Star Magic’s former chairman emeritus, Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan, now a consultant for Sparkle GMA Artist Center, surfaced.

In the viral video, the two were seen exchanging kisses and laughing while standing next to Kapamilya singer-actor Darren Espanto.

It’s remembered that there was a gap between the two because of Bea’s ex-boyfriend, Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson. Julia was accused of snatching Gerald away from Bea, who was allegedly “ghosted” by the actor, back in 2019.

Anderson and Bea Alonzo experienced a whirlwind courtship. Initially, they were in a three-month relationship back in 2010. It was after a six-year hiatus that they reignited their romance while working together in the movie “How to Be Yours.” In 2017, they appeared to confirm their relationship when they attended the Star Magic Ball together. However, a year later, they became embroiled in controversy when Alonzo unfollowed Anderson and Pia Wurtzbach, who was then linked to the actor. Nonetheless, Anderson clarified that it was a misunderstanding, and he and Alonzo were on good terms.

In a 2018 interview, Alonzo shared her aspiration to marry Anderson, a sentiment that was later echoed by the actor himself in an interview where he expressed that the “One More Chance” actress had made him a better man.

Nevertheless, in July 2019, Alonzo posted a sequence of cryptic messages on her Instagram, jotting down: “You can’t make the same mistake twice; the second time you make it, it’s not a mistake anymore; it’s a choice.’ ENOUGH.” Netizens speculated that the post hinted at Anderson and his co-star in “Between Maybes,” Julia Barretto, which the actor eventually confirmed his relationship with.

In a previous interview, Alonzo revealed that the actor “ghosted” her or abruptly cut off communication with her and didn’t formally end their relationship.

“Honestly, to my understanding, we did not break up. He just started not talking to me,” she said.

Because of this, Bea’s line “Time is the ultimate truth teller” became famous.

Initially, Julia denied any involvement in the breakup or the accusations of cheating. However, in 2021, Gerald and Julia publicly confirmed their relationship.

So, netizens comment that “the world is healing” now that the two have spoken after years of not seeing each other.

Here are some of the netizens’ comments and reactions:

“Time heals all wounds.”

“So happy to see these two in one frame with just a positive aura and vibes.”

“The world is healing. Love Julia Barretto and Bea Alonzo. So happy for women.”

“Happy to see them both together. Nangyari ito ngayong women’s month. Time to settle things out kasi naka-move on naman na sila. Pero sad lang for Bea kasi naghiwalay na yata sila ni Dominic.”

“I am genuinely happy for this.”

Despite their tumultuous dating history, Barretto continues to be Anderson’s girlfriend up to the present, following their official confirmation of their relationship in 2021.

Before this mentioned controversy, the two were previously together in the series “A Love to Last” when Bea was still with ABS-CBN.
