Legendary Gospel artist CeCe Winans brought more than music to NPR’s Tiny Desk—she brought a message of eternal hope and divine truth. In a rare and radiant appearance inside the NPR headquarters in Washington, D.C., Winans filled the room with the Spirit of God as she boldly declared the return of Jesus Christ and the unchanging love of the Father.

“I just want everyone to know God loves you with an everlasting love,” Winans shared, surrounded by her denim-clad band and backup singers. “Because He never changes, we can always run to Him, no matter what we face.” Her words echoed with confidence, her tone gentle yet unwavering.

Amid acoustic renditions of her most loved hits—“Alabaster Box,” “Believe for It,” “Come Jesus Come,” and more—Winans didn’t hold back from proclaiming the Gospel.

At 60 years old, the 15-time Grammy winner reflected on her decades-long journey, tracing her faith back to her teenage years. “I fell in love with the presence of God as a young child, and I’m so glad I did, because it’s a safe place,” she said with a smile. “He’s blessed me with a great family.”

Her powerful message centered not on fame or success, but on the constancy of God and the hope of Christ’s imminent return. “When you recognize who Jesus is, you can’t help but worship Him,” Winans declared, pausing after performing “That’s My King,” a soul-stirring tribute to the Lordship of Christ.

Referencing Romans 8:31, she reminded the NPR audience, “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” A verse that anchored the atmosphere in faith and peace, it was a bold proclamation in a space often reserved for more neutral expressions of art.

Earlier this year, Winans spoke with CBN News and issued a heartfelt call to parents: raise your children in the fear and knowledge of God. She described generational faith as “crucial for the body of Christ,” emphasizing that salvation, though finished at the cross, is carried forward through families. “He uses us and our children and our children’s children to continue to win the world to Him,” she said.

Winans also shared a personal reflection. If given a chance to relive the years of raising her now-adult children, she said, “I would invite the Holy Spirit into every moment.” She referenced Proverbs 22:6—“Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it”—as a cornerstone for her advice to families today.

At the heart of her NPR performance was a simple but profound truth: Jesus is coming soon. In a world cluttered with noise, Winans offered a still, sacred invitation—to remember the cross, cling to faith, and prepare for Christ’s return.
