Taguig City has inaugurated two new community facilities in Barangay South Signal: the Quirino Multi-Purpose Building and the South Signal Health Center—aimed at improving access to essential government services, healthcare, and educational programs for residents.

Led by Mayor Lani Cayetano, the inauguration and blessing ceremonies were held on Tuesday, October 7.

The two-storey Quirino Multi-Purpose Building features a basketball court, a daycare center with two classrooms and a playground, a storage room, and barangay offices and conference room on the ground floor. The second floor houses a training center and terrace for community use.

Meanwhile, the four-storey South Signal Health Center offers a complete range of medical services. Its ground floor includes consultation, dental, and minor surgical rooms, a TB DOTS area, and a waste holding section. The second floor focuses on maternal and family health services with prenatal and family planning rooms, a nurses’ station, breastfeeding area, and medical stockroom. The third floor accommodates a clinical laboratory, microbiology section, and staff pantry, while the roof deck provides an open green space for urban gardening.

During the event, Mayor Lani said the facilities reflect the City of Taguig’s faith-driven approach to service, emphasizing that the true impact of these buildings depends on how they are used to help the community:

“Ang ganda po palagi ang purpose ng mga Multi-Purpose Buildings na itinatayo natin. But it’s really up to the users kung paano ito makaaapekto sa komunidad. Ang gusali ay mananatiling gusali, pero nag-iiba kapag may layunin. As we dedicate this building, we also ask the Lord to bless everyone who will use this facility—na sa bawat paggamit nila, maramdaman nila ang kabutihan ng Panginoon at ang pagmamahal ng gobyerno sa kanila.”

At the dedication of the South Signal Health Center, the mayor also paid tribute to the city’s health workers, recognizing their crucial role in delivering care and compassion to residents:

“As we dedicate the structure, we also ask the Lord to bless the people who will man the health center, dahil sila ang pinaka-integral na bahagi ng ating serbisyo. Ang pasilidad ay ikinatutuwa, pero ang serbisyong mahusay ay ipinagbubunyi. Kayo ang gagamitin ng Panginoon para matupad ang mission ng health center—ang magbigay ng kagalingan, comfort, at encouragement sa bawat lumalapit dito.”
